1 Introduction

On May 6, 2023, the School of English at Beijing Foreign Studies University and New World Press jointly hosted the "Hu Wenzhong Biography 'Beijing Foreign Studies Years' Press Conference and Hu Wenzhong Academic Thought Seminar". Mr. Hu Wenzhong is an outstanding alumnus and educator of Beijing Foreign Studies University, who has held multiple important positions and achieved significant achievements in foreign language education, cross-cultural communication research, and Australian studies. The book 'Years of Beijing Foreign Studies University' was written by Professor Li Yao, which detailed Hu Wenzhong's academic career and contributions at the university. The conference attracted over 2000 participants, including leaders from Beijing Foreign Studies University, external guests, and scholars from both domestic and foreign countries, to jointly explore Hu Wenzhong's academic ideas and foreign language education experience.
